![]()
Add a gradient, a mirrored effect, pastel colours, the word beta and you have a web 2.0 logo. Just have a look this flikr group and you will see a few excellent examples. This is a growing trend among web designers. Some people love it other hate it.
What’s your opinion?
Without the usual restrictions of print, you can develop a logo with an array of colours, transparencies, blending modes and effects without having to be concerned with reproduction. Considering that most web companies may never need a business card or print material created why even bother with a print logo?
When designing a logo I believe that you need to have greater consideration to all media applications. Having the ability to seamlessly transfer your logo from print to digital is a must. With good design and strong branding any iteration of your logo you should still be able to see the original basic design.
