LogoSauce™ – the logo resauce :-) for designers.
How did we get to such a mind blowingly great name you might ask.
After throwing around tons of ideas, Matt thought some combintion of Logo (obvious) and Source (because we are attempting to develop a service providing information about the source of logos) was the best way forward.
Late one Friday Matt was tearing his hair out becasue every combination of Logo and Source seemed to be already registered – mainly by domain squatters (the buggers).
David (that’s me) wanting to cool Matts temper and thinking that it all sounded a bit formal) randomly started sounded out the words together and bingo LogoSauce was announced, considered and agreed upon. Now one big hurdle – was it available as a .com. Yep available.
What to do – not perfect perhaps – a bit too fun, not corporate enough maybe – but memorable – and available – right now – Friday night 5pm, beer oclock – what to do?
A quick discussion about what we could do with sauce – easy tasty logos, hot logos, logos with flava, saucy (sexy) logos, so many possibilities. Some nice red graphics too, and little bottles all over the place.
OK lets go for it. A few mouse clicks and few bucks later – the name is settled and registered.
No major market research done costing thousands and no investigation into what it means in spanish, german, french or anything else. Right now it works – it’s booked and we can move on.
Lets hope it’s the right choice.
