Competition Rules Update

We’ve just posted new Competition Rules to the site following much discussion amongst the Logosauce community.

New Rules:

Clients can no longer select their own designs or designs from a related party. Previously it was allowed. We’re now at a stage where the quality and volume of designs being generated for competitions on Logosauce is plain for all to see and users wishing to run a competition should clearly be comfortable committing to the process.

Clients now 14 days after the the end of a competition to select a winner – after which the prize-money will be forfeited. Previously there was date limitation and several competitions remain closed with no winner selected.

If you are running competitions or intend to – please ensure you are conversant with these new competition rules which have now been in place starting with competition number 281.

Also just added the one IP per account code. From now on only one user account will be allowed per IP address.

Occasionally multiple people have to connect using the same proxy, but I’ve added a facility to override it.

Whenever someone logs in, the IP address they use to log in is saved. If someone attempts to sign up using an IP address that has already been used, they will get a message saying the IP address is in use and they will need to contact Logosauce. Logosauce admins have the power to override this behaviour if it’s deemed appropriate.

Existing accounts are not affected, however once people have signed in we will be able to see if the same IP is used for multiple accounts.

I see a technical glitch – main page say this thread has 5 comments but there are only three – before this post. When I check now it will likely say there are 6 when in fact there are just 4.

Maybe it’s time for adding some new rules for designers. In few recent competition i sow, as dondeezine sad, “shotgun” method of uploading logos. I understand that someone have a lot of ideas, but i am sure that all designers here have a lots of ideas and in the end they choose just a couple best for certain contest and present them here. I really like this site because of a lot high quality design work. And if we all change our method of uploading logos we will end up on some sort of mass production with lot of “noise” and low quality.
Also want to say that i am not very pleased with idea of posting large pictures in comments beside logo. How someone who is designer can be so insensitive and ruin well structured and designed web page?
