The LogoSauce Blog
Vintage logos
Designer Chris Heath sent a link in for all you folk interested in old logos. These ones from a logo book published in the 70’s.

Chris writes:
“Here are some vintage logos to share with members, perhaps in your next blog entry: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mr_carl/sets/72157604144345854/
Inspiration perhaps – enjoy.
I found the pages really interesting. Many of the logos I’ve not seen before but many of the forms I recognize from modern logos. Love the way they’re all in B&W too – always a good test of a logo design.
Thanks Chris
p.s If you find an old logo somewhere you love – you can upload it to your profile with appropriate disclosure or send it to david@logosauce.com if you prefer and I’ll post it on the blog.

Its interesting how modern and abstract some of these are. I would never have thought that some of these were from the ‘70s
Thanks for sharing
I remember the Amtrak logo from when I was a kid mucking around with model trains. Looked up amtrak.com and they seem to have changed the logo. Shame really.
Yeah… I think the older logo actually looks better too
Cool :D
interesting, thanks for sharing =o)
hmm.. there is a travel agency here in romania that uses a logo very similar to Amtrak

Very interesting and inspiring (if put aside fact that proves how hard is to be original :)
