You folk have been busy.
We just paid out another US$2100 in prize money this morning. Well done to all the winners.
Interesting to see it’s often the same designer winning. Obviously talented people. However it’s also great to see new faces winning too, like oximam , oronoz , altamarea ...and more.
Check out the winners page for more Read more…
Check out these cool ads and creative for Minichamps brand toy cars spotted by Santy . I wonder what Maserati, Lamborghini, etc think of these logo parodies. Great concept and execution.
I love this comment from Chanpion on a recent competition he won.
“Mate, you can’t get better than waking up on a weekend 550 bucks richer. To win in a competition filled with so much talent from other designers is an honor. Cheers.” Read more…

Dear Logosauce Users
A user has decided to use her profile make a political stand with regard to No-Spec. No-Spec is a cause promoted by AIGA to encourage designers not to compete in design competitions.
I could delete her profile or remove her comments – however I’m fair minded enough to let her express an opinion provided she can accept that others have a different view. So her profile remains provided it remains fair.
I believe there is a time and place for everything. Competitions are not meant to replace the designer pitching process. Instead they should be seen as a complimentary way to raise a designers profile, meet new clients and more. Read more…

I just had an email from the client of competition #261. She advises that she has deleted her account. She writes: “You left me no choice but to delete my account! I have chosen my winner and notified him. 16816 by rederic.”
This effectively means the competition has been also deleted. Read more…

We’ve recently had a lot of discussion about clients uploading and selecting their own designs in competitions. This has been allowed by competition rules, where a client is unable to select a design entry they like as a winner. Time for a change… Read more…

We’re off to the Webstock conference in Wellington, NZ this week.
Actually I’m already in Wellington for a couple of meeting before the conference proper begins on Thursday at the Wellington Town Hall. There are some brilliant speakers lined up and I’m really looking forward to Thursday morning.
If you’re going to be there yourself it would be great to catch up and have a chat in person. I hope to do the same with the Campaign Monitor folk who are over from Sydney and hopefully a bunch of other folk. Read more…
Steve just posted another fix for scores (Views)
We recently changed our server to use Apaches HAProxy and this changed the way views were being counted. Now fixed and we’ve restored the view counts from the Apache logs. May not be absolutely perfect ….but looks to me like views and score are back up to where they should be.
I hope this now fixes most issues. As usual comments welcome. :-) Read more…

Hi folks
We had an unexpected outage during the night. Caused by Nginx and Apache fighting for the port. Nginx restarted itself. Steve now turned Nginx off properly and we should be sweet now.
