We are a street store with 11 years of existence in São José dos Campos – Brazil, and we sell clothes, shoes and accessories for babies and children from 0 to 12 years old.
The main client is the mother or grandmother who is looking for quality products with reasonable prices (better prices than a mall store for example).
We are updating the old logo (that we consider very primitive – http://www.minigenios.com.br/mini%20genios.jpg ) to a more fun, fresh, cool, modern, friendly and stylish one. Actually it doesn’t need to be an updated version of the old logo, it can be a complete new version. The name of the store is “Mini Gêniosâ€, what means mini geniuses (or small geniuses). To captivate the attention of both the mother and the children, it is interesting that the logo uses colorful combinations. We should transmit the idea that it is an intelligent choice to buy in this store, not only due to the good relation between price and quality, but mainly due to a great customer service.
The logo will be applied in the front of the store (http://www.minigenios.com.br/DSC_1057.jpg and http://www.minigenios.com.br/DSC_1317.jpg ), in the indicated positions.

The originality, quality and cleverness will be highly appreciated.
The winner should provide the logo in vector format, fully scalable (i.e. Adobe Illustrator).
I will answer all the questions and give you feedback during the whole competition. I will be available to write a letter of recommendation or whatever you need for your portfolio. The winner will be chosen within a maximum of three days after the end of competition, so it is a good chance to make some fast money.

I already posted a lot of feedbacks individually, but in general, what I would like to say is that I am very happy with the results, there are some logos of very high quality and quite consistent with my business. The logos that were more interesting in my opinion were those who used drawings from children of indefinite age, that are more visual appealing and colorful. We are in the end of competition, just more four days!
Any feedback for us Fabio?
