The Brief

Hello all,

L5 Solutions is a website design and online marketing company, and we are in need of a logo. We have a few concepts of our own (as you would expect!) but having seen some of the work on this website, I would like to provide you with the chance to throw a few of your own ideas into the ring.

A few things that you may want to consider:

- The name derives from the fact that it is a family business, our last name is Line and there are five of us! Therefore it is L to the power of 5, instead of just L5. Clue: We used 5 lines in our old logo and while we like the idea, we would like to move away from this.

- We are not a ‘stuffy’ company. Those of us involved in the day-to-day running are young and fun, but we are also very serious about what we do.

- We don’t have any preference with colours, but our new website is black.

- We are based in the United Arab Emirates, a muslim country, so no crosses please!

- You can drop the ‘Solutions’ part and just logoize (?) the L5 part.

The competition amount is $150 for all files and rights.

Hi guys. I’ve been impressed by a few of the logos submitted thus far. I think using L5 as the main focal point of the logo is working pretty well, but I would like to see more shapes/design elements being used as a logo too.

Hope that’s enough of an update to get the juices flowing, if not leave a message for me here. The team are checking for updates regularly…

Think! Outside the Box . . .:

Hello . . . You say there is three designs you really like and that fit in with what you want: It would be nice if you could let everyone know which three designs these are currently displayed in this competition, that way the designers who have entered will get some idea of what you like/not visually. Maybe you don’t wish to do that because you want the designs to be totally different in terms of what you like. Would be helpful maybe?

I toyed with the idea of telling everyone which ones we like, but I don’t want there to be an issue with ideas being stolen/copied. I will say, however, that we are emailing those designers whose work we really like, asking for improvements or font changes etc. Hopefully that will give you a clue as to what we like…

Hi guys…

First let me apologise for the time taken in informing you all of the results of this competition. We’ve been extremely busy (which is a good thing of course) but now we’ve come to a decsion..

The logo we liked best is: http://www.logosauce.com/logos/9588 by Sebbdesign.

It was very close between Sebb’s logo and three others, but we felt that his effort was the right way to go and would fit in nicely with our new website.

Finally, our thanks to everyone for entering. We really appreciate the time and effort put in by all and we wish you all the best in future compettions…
