Akamai SmartHome Design

Profile: Keith Evans
Company: Akamai SmartHome Design

Opens: 12 December 2007
Closes: 22 December 2007
Prize value: US$150.00

Details:

We are looking for a logo for our company.

About Us: Akamai SmartHome Design is a professional design and installation provider of whole house audio, structured cabling, home theaters, lighting and HVAC automation, and security and access-control systems. Our customers are primarily homeowner in the middle to upper price ranges, though we also do occasional commercial work. We are located in Edmonds, WA., a suburb of Seattle.

General Design Inputs:

We are open to all logo ideas. Ideally, the logo would include both the name of the company as well as some type of easily-recognized symbol. The logo should portray “technology in the home,” but should not be intimidating to the average homeowner. It should portray professionalism with (ideally) a sense of fun. We lean towards a color palette of red, white, black, and maybe gold. Red, white, and black are key. In general, we lean against a logo with initials.

This logo will be used for everything and needs to translate well from business cards to embroidered corporate apparel.

Questions: Please record below or email me.

Good luck. We appreciate all entries.

Maybe they changed their mind when they saw Toons. At least the client picked a nice logo. Nice logo and congrats Toon!

Is this the winner? The contest holder was iterating to have “SmartHome” featured more prominently!

Hello all-

On the topic of making the “SmartHome Design” feature much more prominently in the logo, take a look at the following design: http://www.logosauce.com/logos/11908. Although this design is not currently one of our front-runners, it comes closest to the proportion balance that we’re looking for. Heck, the “Akamai” could be even smaller still in relation to “SmartHome Design.”

We’re thinking that although lots of clever, intelligent, and cool cats out there (like the folks that frequent logosauce.com) know what “Akamai” means and even how to pronounce it correctly, the vast majority of the public probably doesn’t.

So… we don’t want to lose them on that word. We think that “SmartHome” is a very important descriptor.

I hope this helps.

Thanks, Digger. Should have caught the ability to reference the specific web page. Will do so in the future.

Hi Tamarindo

We don’t number the logos as such but each logo does indeed have a number – just look at the web address in the address bar of your browser. It’s really simple then to just cut and paste the URL into your comment.

The way you’ve numbered them is pretty well useless as these pages change constantly. The other alternative is to quote the logo name which can then be searched.

Hope that helps.

It doesn’t appear that LogoSauce uses a standardized numbering system, so to help you guys figure out which ones we like best, I’ll number by which page they on, followed by a number. I’ll start counting from the upper left logo on each page.

For example, on page one, there’s one that’s mostly blue. That would be P.1, #17.

With that said, the ones we like best so far are:

P.1, #15 P. 2, #9 P. 2, #16 P. 3, #1

Suggestions/requests: feature “SmartHome” more prominently; please note our preference for red/white/black (and maybe gold); utilize a strong graphic symbol; clean and powerful seems to be what we’re leaning towards.

Hope that helps. If you have specific questions, just ask.

And to all that have submitted so far, THANK YOU very much. We have been blown away with the quality and quantity of your submissions and are truly humbled by your efforts. We look forward to making a final decision at the end of the competition and awarding the prize.

Take care!

I just wanted to see which ones are your favorites, and why. So that we can work more in that direction.

By tamarindo over 2 years ago

Could we some iterations where “SmartHome” is featured more prominently in the design?

Thanks!
