West Mountain Inn
Close: 21 December 2017
Required 1 Logo – with 2 variations
- Primary Logo – West Mountain Inn
- Variation 1 – Remember Baker Bistro
- Variation 2 – The Barn at West Mountain Inn
We are in need of 1 primary logo for our Vermont country inn and 2 variations on the main logo for the inn’s restaurant and our barn event space. We’d like them to be visually cohesive – i.e. same use of color, fonts, style etc. So there is continuity across the brand between the main identity and the restaurant and barn logos.
Here’s our info. Good luck, have fun and please let us know if you have any questions.
We have a logo we’ve been using for many years ’re interested in freshening up the main logo so we’re open to an update to what we currently have and/or a new approach on the whole design. See our current website:
We definitely want to use a different font/design for the text “West Mountain Inn”. The text part of our current logo is too long and horizontal and doesn’t work well for web and social media headers and icons. So whether you design a whole different look or an update we would like the overall orientation of the new logo to have a more square (or at least not such an extreme rectangular) aspect ratio.
West Mountain Inn is a 18 room country inn located in southern Vermont. We have been an independent, family run operation for the last 40 years. We offer lodging and have an onsite restaurant and historic barn event space where we host weddings and other events and retreats. Some of the unique qualities of our business and onsite features are: the beautiful, private location (150 mountainside acres), restaurant & tavern, game room, individually decorated guest rooms, hiking trails, labyrinth meditation garden, stone walls, mountain views, alpacas, lily pond, outdoor wood fired pizza oven. Many of our employees have worked at the Inn for over 15 years so guests get to know and connect personally with our caring staff. Many of our longtime guests have been coming back for over 25 years, and we are known for our authentic “family” hospitality. People often consider the Inn their Vermont “home away from home” – some guests even wear their slippers to breakfast! We offer fine dining in a very comfortable atmosphere. We are a venue for over 20 destination weddings each year in our 100 year old historic barn where guests enjoy an authentic Vermont ambiance. Inn guests can enjoy fly fishing on the famous Battenkill River at the base of our driveway, kayaking, canoeing, back road cycling and hiking and snow shoeing on our well groomed 150 acres of trails, so many guests come to enjoy all of the beauty and onsite activities in nature – a true Vermont country estate. We’re looking for a logo set that evokes a friendly, positive feeling with a style that is fresh and appealing.
- We love our alpacas but we are not a farm and do not want them to be featured in the logo.
- We plan to continue using the blue/green/white color themes you see on our current website but will be updating these to slightly more saturated, fresher, more modern shades
- Our restaurant is named after one of the Ethan Allen Boys of the Revolutionary war – Remember Baker. He lived in Arlington where the Inn is located.
This is a theme we use – each of our guest rooms is named after a famous person from Vermont history.
- Our chef sources local, organic ingredients from our many nearby farms and serves seasonal contemporary, New England cuisine.
Our guests are primarily middle-upper income, 50+ yrs old from the East Coast United States, however guests (especially for our destination weddings) come from all over the US and many other countries. Our guests tend to enjoy nature, outdoor activities and the privacy of our setting. They are looking for sophisticated but authentic Vermont experience, whether for a vacation, dining or event – no pretensions or stuffiness. In addition to appealing to our current audience we would also like to increase our reach to fairly affluent younger (20’s-50’s) guests who also will appreciate the comfortable, outdoorsy, natural Vermont experience of our Inn.
