We are looking for a new logo for “Extended Designs” / “XDesigns”.
We are a software development company. We develop custom web and standalone applications for both government departments and corporates. We are a fairly young company(trading for 3 years) with 5 employees (between the ages of 25 ~ 32). We move away from the standard and try different techniques and graphics to make our applications stand out. We aim to create applications that are easy to use and that look good.
Our graphic designers however hit a snag when it came to designing our own logo. So we throwing this out into the open. Use shapes and colour as you see fit.
We want a first class logo that portays a professional image.

UPDATE: Now US$300
Darek has offered to lift the prize money to US$300. Just waiting to receive the payment and then I’ll post the increase.
Hippo you got some of what you want but not all. However you should consider everyone here works in their own frame of reference. Not all markets and charge out rates are equal around the globe. I think we all need to bear that in mind when commenting about what motivates people to participate in competitions (whether client or designer). While we are all coming together on this site – we are all still different in many ways.
Good on you Darek – for listening to what was being said and props to you for upping the ante. I hope you get a great result. In the end that’s what we all want.

We are not a design firm, we are a software development company. We have two graphic designers that do graphics for our applications. They do user interfaces or a small website at most. We do not design logos for other companies, it is not something that we specialize in.
2ndly we are a South African based company, the exchange rate is far from favourable. I am however new to this website and I did not look at the average prize money before i submitted the competition. I am willing to raise the prize to match other competitions. I just need to find out how ….
Hi Guys. Thanks to all that submitted logos for the competition. From the submitted logos we chose 14 logos that were rated highly by us and by this website. We presented the 14 logos to peers and friends to vote on the best logo. The top 3 rated logos are :
