Saucy Media

Profile: Erin Keating
Company:

Opens: 13 May 2008
Closes: 03 June 2008
Prize value: US$250.00

Details:

I am looking for a logo for my new production company, Saucy Media.

Saucy Media creates original comedic programming for women 18-34 for all platforms – from TV and the Web to mobile, radio and live tours.

As a brand, Saucy Media is smart, fun, hip, modern and female. As a company, Saucy is buttoned up and professional, not girly, silly or frivolous.

The logo should say “Saucy Media”. It should be feel both sophisticated and energetic.

It should NOT include any typical “comedy” references, like microphones, clowns or smiley faces, any girly elements (like flowers or frills), or any “film” elements like cameras or film reels.

I wouldn’t mind if the logo included some sort of abstract graphic (like a star) but it’s not necessary.

I love orange and red. Please no pink.

I’m looking forward to seeing what you come up with! I will provide comments within a day or two on logos I feel are going in the right direction.

Thanks so much!

Thank you to everyone who submitted a logo to the Saucy Media contest! I was really inspired by your work and creativity and it was a very hard decision to pick the winning design. Best of luck in all of your future creative endeavors and I hope to see you here at LogoSauce again in the future!

So there are about 5 days left in the contest and I don’t think we’ve quite hit it yet. Wondering if these examples would help you with some more direction. These are textile and graphic designers whose aesthetic I really like – they feel feminine without being too girly, and modern without being too dotcom-y. There’s something organic and high energy in these artists’ work that I really respond to:

I still love orange/tangerine and modern fonts as cited below and I’m still looking for a sense of humor in the work, but maybe this will provide fresh inspiration.

Thanks for all of your hard work!

Great work, everyone! I think the “flame” direction (while it’s resulted in some very cool designs) is a mistake on my part – I don’t think it sends the message that this is a content production company. Sorry about that.

What I do like, though (which Toon’s little devil design has) is the idea that the logo could have a sort of “wink” to it (NOT literally) – some visual element that’s both sophisticated and fun (but not in a goofy or childish way). This might be too much to ask, but I thought I’d put it out there.

EmLiam – thanks for your question. My plan is to comment on the logos I like best, and then people can read the commencts and take direction for their entries from there. I hope that will work!

@Erink: If we do not receive comment/feedback, does it mean our entry is not in the right direction? (Just clarification.)

This is a good start!

To clarify, I like both orange and red but I don’t particularly like them together.

Also, there should be no tag line on the logo.

I don’t want to limit anyone’s creativity by suggesting fonts, but a few that I like can be found on the following logosauce logos: http://logosauce.com/logos/86, http://logosauce.com/logos/13874, http://logosauce.com/logos/7163.

Thanks!
