For a long time I have been in search for a logo for one of my projects. Seeing most turned out to be too detailed to be used for printing or too badly connected with the core concept, I now see the need to leave the logo design up to those who know their job.
Mentiz (mentiz.com) is a gaming organization that focusses on stability and professionalism. Our competitors mostly do not live past their first year due to amateuristic approaches or the realization that whatever goals have been set are unrealistic. We are almost in existance for 2 years, have 58 dedicated members and a pagerank of 4. We are doing it right and confident we will be doing so for a long time.
Mentiz comes from the Latin word mentis, meaning intellect. Our tagline is: “passion for gaming”.
The two most important elements the logo should convey are (1) stability and (2) professionalism.
The logo should be clearly recognisable in small size and on printwork as well.
The color we currently use is green, however the logo should be designed to be displayed in any color.
Preferably the logo is unique enough to go without text (also good for printwork).

@Luceos: Dude, youve been pretty fickle this whole comp. This is the second comp in a row toon’s gotten the raw stick one way or the other…… you shouldnt announce a winner till the contest is over. And you really should be sure when you do……………
However, the decision goes to http://www.logosauce.com/logos/26012 from calmac.
Mentiz management thinks this logo suits are future needs more. We would like to thank all contestants for their great participation, I’ve seen some really skilled logo artwork!
The Mentiz members voted for (http://www.logosauce.com/logos/25816) almost unanimously…
I’m still here; just trying to come to a decision :)
I see quite some new entries. I already saw them all, but will take some time to get a good impression before commenting. You’re all doing a great job.
Currently favored most by the community is Gate M by Toon (http://www.logosauce.com/logos/25816). Argumentation for this is simplicity and although the Rook by Stevietime also is awe-inspiring and fearsome, the link with chess is too close. The one I call Circle of 3 by calmac is favored modestly. Somehow the link with chemistry overrules the visual elements of stabilty.
In order of community favorits:
- Gate M by Toon - Rook by Stevietime - Circles of 3 by calmac
I hope this clarifies more what we are looking for. Simplicity, but strong with a core of stability.
@decipherid; I guess i have limited my commentary on some logo’s. And I apologize for any grieveance caused. Also, I know the fee provided is way too low for the time spend on such activity. Would I have had more funds available the price placed would have been much higher. As for respect, I tried to stay away from blossomed speech..
However, I am a webdeveloper in the sense that I code sites. I have absolutely no fingers for design. That doesn’t mean I have no experience nor feeling for how a logo looks. Thus I take each of the submitted logo’s into consideration and bias them based on my opinion. If this opinion seems harsh and cruel, remember it’s only my opinion. I try to be honoust, so that not only I will be enriched from this experience.
But let this not turn into a bickering contest.
As for the business at hand. The currently submitted logo’s have each been a great inspiration. I guess I need to select some favorites and let the mentiz community itself say what they like most.
Thanks for all of your efforts, my deepest respect.
@Luceos: I have noticed that many of your comments are very disrespectful to certain designers. Design your own logo if you think you are so smart! You are getting a logo done very cheap on this site – the designer’s work is devalued enough as it is.
The logo’s that stay closest to the requirements have drawn my interest most;
http://www.logosauce.com/logos/26012 http://www.logosauce.com/logos/26009 http://www.logosauce.com/logos/25870 http://www.logosauce.com/logos/25816
I really love the logo’s I’m seeing. Great work so far.
Stop using the M; unless it’s absolutely a magnificent idea..
Only 4 so far have made a logo without the use of text or letter. Even when i said and i quote: “Preferably the logo is unique enough to go without text (also good for printwork).”
Please try to stick to the things the logo should convey: stability and professionalism. Previous logo idea’s included a rock (stable), lion (supreme), dolphin (intellect). Please note that I would not like to see another lion and I prefer to see new idea’s.
I see some good logo’s with the letter M, as long as they remain stylish it’s no problem, but try not to post logo’s of a letter alone (http://www.logosauce.com/logos/25846). I prefer to see logo’s that do not include a letter.
As for the joystick, it’s a nice reference to our gaming background, but it’s not the main goal for our logo.
Currently i like http://www.logosauce.com/logos/25816 most; it looks like a gate or castle (stable).
the logo you asked about (the 2 circles) is the letters M,G, and O. with the M on top.
Logo should not necessarily have a M in it.

My apologies, i couldnt find any information on the process. Btw, cloptic, your entries where great too.
And who wouldn’t rethink a decision when money is at stake, which i had to save up for quite a while.
