I’ve seen lots of great work here! Here’s what I’ve got. I am planning on relaunching my photography studio this fall under a new name – Copper Dog Photography. Recently my 14 year old dalmatian, Copper, had to be put to sleep. The new studio name is dedicated to him.
I am looking for an elegant looking logo. My target audience is high-end brides and families looking for non-traditional portraiture. Copper Dog will be main text focus, Photography will be smaller text in logo. I would like a graphical element of Copper to be included. An image of him is here:

As this is a new launch, I don’t have a particular color scheme picked out. I would like something that can be placed on black and on white. If that means two different schemes, then that is fine. A couple schemes I do like can be found at Adobe’s Kuler site – http://kuler.adobe.com/. Some of the themes I like “sandy stone beach ocean,” “orange on olive,” and “neutral blue” although I am open to see any scheme.

Also, I am 100% digital, so I want to avoid any ‘film’ reference in the logo, as well as any other common items found in other photographers’ logos (aperture silhouette, flash, lenses, etc)
Great start! After looking at some other logos I came up with a list of logos I like and why. Not each one has to be incorporated into this logo, but it may give better direction than my description above. As you can tell, I am not a designer so I may not have described the project all that well in the beginning. Hope this helps!
