- We are looking for a contemporary, clean, and elegant logo for the National Association of Women Songwriters.
- We’re NOT looking for a logo focusing on the acronym (NAWS). The focus instead could be on “women songwriters” (larger font – different color font, etc.)
- This logo will be the main element of our Wordpress Website. We obviously want a graphic along with the name of the organization. We prefer the graphic element to be more abstract. If the obvious graphic elements are used (clefs, notes, music tab, guitar strings) – we’d love to see some contemporary approaches to them. This is because most music organizations have used these elements in their logos. It has become commonplace. We are one of the first associations to be primarily internet based – with a focus on internet success and publicity for our members.
- We’d like an organic, creative, earthy feel with this graphic.
- Our tagline is going to be: “Where creativity converges with success.” We are encouraging and coaching women to create not only music – but successful careers for themselves.
- Our members are creative, humorous, mostly liberal minded, financially aware, in love with songwriting, and living conscious lives.

Thanks to everyone for providing such an assortment of choices. Before the last entries are submitted – I haven’t made notes on many of these entries because sometimes the whole concept doesn’t work.
For instance – with the silouettes of very “femme” women or the high heels or the mermaid-y sirens — try to realize that many of the women songwriters in the world are feminist/lesbian/political, etc. In fact, most of them wouldn’t be attracted to these images. So they’re not exactly the “brand” I want for this association.
Thanks for all of these no matter which design we choose!

hi dot design — I extended it because I wanted to re-write my logo description because I don’t feel like I was very clear in the first description. The early designs had the acronym as the focus – and I don’t think I was clear about the graphic itself. Thanks for your understanding!

I’m liking the one or two logos that features the words “Women Songwriters” in a bigger font.
I like the more contemporary graphics too. I like graphics that are a little more abstract or contemporary in the approach to the music graphics (ie. clefs and music notes.)
PLEASE NOTE: I apologize for usuing the acronym NAWS in my description — it seems that not many people made it to the bottom of the description where I wrote that I didn’t want to focus on the acronym. I’d rather focus on WOMEN SONGWRITERS. Thanks!
