Logo req for a film-production company
Our company GEETHA ARTS is a indie film production company formed in 1974.
By Indian standards, our name is a little “classic” or old-sounding. We want to develop a corporate identity logo thats bold and modern and VERY SIMPLE. Here is the brief for it.
- The logo must be visible even when seen from a distance as we’re going to use it on movie posters and billboards.
- Must be customizable. for ex : We’re making a love story and we’re using the logo on that poster – we must be able to change the colors of the logo to pink, purple and similar colors. If we’re making an action film – we should be able to make the same logo look grungy or with some blood-splatter on it.
- The logo should have bold fonts, which should signify a “large company” and respect. If hand-written fonts or futuristic fonts are used – it might come off that we’re a botique filmmaking company, which we are not.
Typically I want something on those lines. But I am open to experimenting. As long as the logo looks good. Some of the logo-types which I have not included below are “perspective logos” which as 2D but have a 3D look, and other clipart based logo. Ideally, I would like to avoid film-based clipart such as clapper-board, film-strip or camera unless its very creatively and intelligently used.
I have put up some 10 logos which I liked and why I liked them at the following link:- http://sirish.in/galogo/logo-analysis.gif

Congrats Shorty another great win. Love the lens concept. Nice
I usually don’t make comments in this board, but Ryan I agree with you 100%, but it isn’t stopping anyone from changing their thinking. Read the brief people!
its a shame some people didn’t read the brief! …" I would like to avoid film-based clipart such as clapper-board, film-strip or camera unless its very creatively and intelligently used.’’ dooh dooh dooh…!
Thanks a lot. Hope to see from good stuff from you. Rest of the logo (cliparts or font) being the same in all environment I am looking if put in one element like a box or a border which is very customizable. So that we can play around the logo a little bit if req in our visiting cards, headers, website and movie posters.
Excellent brief – I’m in…
