The Brief
Getting a new middle school building (to be opened 2010) was a great opportunity for students to redefine their identity! Previously the blue/gold Lincoln Warriors, students at this middle school have chosen to become the Lincoln Lightning using the colors green/silver/black. Now it’s time to define the mascot and logo. We look forward to seeing the submittals and taking the finalists to a full-school student vote in time for the ground-breaking ceremony this April.

these are great – thanks to everyone! The school is on spring break this week. I can’t wait to see what the Principal, Assistant Principal and Superintendent think when they return on Monday! Hopefully we’ll get some student input as well – they are so excited to become Lightning!

examples of team logos we like for one reason or another (google image search will bring them up):
about 3 years agotampa bay lightning, columbus blue jackets, carolina hurricanes, seattle sonics, stonybrook seawolves, san jose sharks, houston rockets (rocket orbiting a basketball/earth), etc. bold but with finesse. like the idea of incorporating a globe/earth somehow…

Were you able to get any specific feedback from the Principals/Superintendent and Students that would be helpful to us in the design process? Anything they gravitated to specifically in terms of style, color, boldness, readability, etc? Any and all info would be great! Thanks!
