ribbons of red (a design portfolio site/freelance design business) is in need of a logo. the name “ribbons of red” came from a song my grandma wrote. she was a huge inspiration to me and all of the people around her. when she passed away last month i came across that song, and i wanted to name my new portfolio site after it.
my ideal logo would incorporate the color red and have excellent/creative/original typography. the feel of the logo needs to be sleek yet professional. i would prefer the letters to be all lowercase, but please feel free to experiment.
ribbons used in the logo would be ideal. try to think of where ribbons can be used or seen, and try to visualize a logo out of that. one of the ideas i had was to make the ribbon inside of a cassette tape red, but i couldn’t seem to make it look right.
i have no trouble designing things for other people, but i can never design things for myself! i’m way too indecisive. i’ve seen a lot of talent on this website so i am reaching out to all of you to help me with this really important project. thanks in advance for everyone’s help – it means a lot.
side notes: please do not do anything that looks glassy the winning logo will need to be in vector format in illustrator the smallest piece of print material this logo will be printed on is a business card

Dear Renee Rist, I am pretty confused… Either my vision is fucked up or I didn’t understand a thing in the so detailed description for the competition logo. I have to say, I wonder where the audio tape you seemed to want so badly appears in the winning logo. All this has been nothing but a waste of time for me. So congratulations to those who did their best to create something corresponding to the - “tape logo” -
Next time you should be clearer in what you ask for… and especially in what you finally chose.

This is a tough one. Some really nice ones in this bunch. If you need help selecting, I’m offering. I don’t have any entries.
Some pointers that might help! :)
1. Logos should be made on a white background, not black. (Thanks to all of you who converted them to white — it’s hard to visualize how it will truly look without seeing them that way).
2. Please note that the winning logo will have to be completely in vector format and the font file must be included too.
3. Red and Gray is my favorite color combination

i don’t get it, what do i have to do to rate a logo?
one of the ideas i had was to make the ribbon inside of a cassette tape red. i never said that is what i wanted for sure. please don’t tarnish the logo sauce boards with your sore-loser attitude. thank you.
