The Brief

Hi All!

I am a pet photographer in Charlotte, NC.

I have the picture in my head of what I want for my logo but I am SO not able to do it on my own! If you will go to my website and click on Gallery & ‘Ruby – my Mascot’ you will see my dog Ruby. There are a few photos in there where you can see her pretty face and get a good look at her.

You can also see her photo here ~ that photo is what I use on my business card and the biz card is the background on my site. It is also on my Jeep which is wrapped with my biz card.

So the image I have in my head is based on Ruby. She has blue eyes that get lighter as she gets older ~ very pretty. one of her eyes even has a little brown mixed in. She has one ear with the fawn color and a black nose. (her nose was spotted black as a puppy and now is completely black) I want sort of a combo of serious cartoon/caricature but still ’real’ish (I know, I’m great with the descriptions…not!) I want something that can be ‘converted’ to a watermark on my photos but that will also have some color in it when not a watermark.

I also would like to see my tag line used “Cool Poses for Wet Noses!”

My biz name is Paw Prints Pet Photography (i know, I know) but i don’t necessarily NEED that in the logo because i may change my name next year, but for now that is my name.

I would also like the font to match my business card. The fonts used are Gotham & Grover.

The main colors I typically use are a combo of blue and brown (see biz card).

Hi…No Ruby isn’t deaf. :) She is a Boxer tho. Totally healthy. Yes you can use her picture. I’m not sure how to upload another picture here tho.

Happy New Year everyone! Thanks again for your entries! Just a quick note before I go out of town again. I haven’t had a chance to really sit down and look closely at all the entries and give individual feedback on each one. I really appreciate the effort that some of you are putting into the logo designs. I can also tell you that an image of a paw print is NOT something I’m interested in as a logo. I understand that some of you don’t have the fonts of Grover and Gotham, so in that case please use something close to them, as most of you have.
Should I be giving my opinion on each individual entry? Some of them I haven’t commented on because they are not even close to what I asked for and I’m not sure how to respond…if you all want, in a few days I can comment on each entry & I will be totally honest with you. Some i LOVE and some, well, not so much. :)

It is so good to hear from you…
I think everyone would agree that if you are not interested in
one of the entries….just say “Not Interested” in the comment line.
You dont have to worry about being blunt. LOL
That way we can read that and know that we need to follow
a totally different path. So you will receive exactly what you want.
Another idea…maybe offer a number on a scale of 1-10.
Then from there. add input on your higher scores.
I think that would also be helpful.
Just tossing ideas step by step to make this easier for you. :)

I want to thank everyone for your submissions. Aside from the rude comments some designers left for me, and the rude comments some designers left for OTHER designers, I appreciate the work. I felt it best not to leave feedback for the logos I didn’t like or that didn’t make sense to me. I don’t feel it’s necessary to insult others just because I don’t like their submission.
