good work but i dont get it,.. because the competition-founder wrote this “I’m really trying to stay away from the typical musical symbols for this logo. So the clef and music notes, etc—I’d rather see them in an abstract situation – kind of hinted at – rather than the main focus. These things are used on every music company logo out there. So I’m seeking something that stands out in a different way.” – ok… O.o
Eh, yep..I was a bit confused by all that too. She must have changed her mind.

I’m a firm believer, the client does not know what they want. They can tell you they do until they’re blue in the face, but they really don’t. So always assume they don’t know.
And nice logo.
