I have reversed the colours as requested. It takes it back to the shape you have provided – the only difference being line thickness. It looks crisp and clean.

I have also reinstated the smaller circle (below) to see what it looks like. I think it could be mistaken for an upturned letter ‘c’.

Of the upper two in nr.10, the top one works best and the one with the red background looks great as well.
I agree with you on nr.11. You could rotate the knob to avoid the ‘C’ , but the knob just looks best in this angle.
That is… maybe even slightly better when the knob pointer runs parallel to the corresponding line in the ‘M’ ?? So just a few degrees ccw.
Nr.12 versions put too much weight to the knob i guess.
