I don’t normally post a work in progress this early on, but this is a really cool logo project that should turn out unlike any other logo I’ve done. This is for a major recording studio in California. The logo is going to emulate an actual Filmore poster that came out of San Fran in the 60s and 70s. It will be very colorful and fonts difficult to read. This is so the recipient will want to pay more attention to it. All of the work is being done in Illy.
UPDATE: I’m having a difficult time making this look ‘imperfect.’ As most of you know, these poster artists didn’t use computers. I’m trying to match the style and all those curves are very time consuming. I also have a huge mistake in my file. I don’t know when it happened, but I seemed to have sliced the pieces. You can tell by the black line areas. I’ll post again when I have some more done.

Look forward to seeing the final result – looks interesting and thanks for posting it Cwilk – it’s nice to see how designs evolve. Maybe you could post a few more iterations before the final version.
