This is the placeholder image shown when a user marks a competition entry as NOT visible before close. Rather than the user seeing the entry and perhaps being tempted to copy the design. This image is shown instead.

It’s what it does – not the design itself that is so cool. See this blog entry all about it: http://www.logosauce.com/blog/2007/8/3/new-invisible-entries-in-competitions

Great idea! I probably won’t use it, but I guess I won’t know until I have the option. Also, does this must mean that points are not given because people won’t be able to see the art?

yep – no points I guess until close date – then you can see and vote your heart out. Of course the competition owner and LogoSauce admins can still see them – so we can vote!.
This is what people wanted – I still believe showing the entries is better – but if you’re worried about plagiarism – hide it.

It can be misused!

How can this logo be misused? If you’re referring to someone else copying another logo when theirs is hidden, it’s easy enough to see what they’ve done at the end of a competition. Otherwise, I think it’s a great idea. I only use it sparingly when I feel I have come up with something that no one else has. If the client doesn’t like what I’ve done, then I make that logo visible.

This has since been superceded in Logosauce 2 by a new icon.
