In short, Dollar are the “five star hotel” of construction companies.

This logo would sit well engraved on a brass plaque, outside a five star hotel in London or New York.

It is simple, traditional, elegant and it brands you as a 5-star company.

I felt it was important not to use a building metaphor – bricks and girders are cheesy, obvious images for the lower end of the market – what Dollar offer is an exclusive, high end service and the logo should reflect that.

The gold would work well in print with a foil, bit will work equally in CMYK and RGB.
