The LogoSauce Tee Shirt (extended)
Notes:
“Sauce code” is a play on the computing term “Source code”- i.e. computer programming code.
Only a “geek” understands source code.
Likewise, only a logo “geek” will know what the heck any logosauce tee shirt means when they see you wearing it.
I certainly wouldn’t expect my mum or gran to know what logosauce was.
Therefore, I decided to play with the idea of jargon, in-crowd language and geeks in general.
The sauce bottle is shown spilling out a liquid, with some HTML-like code in it. The code spells out the names of famous logos (Nike, Apple, Coke) and logo designers (Paul Rand, Saul Bass) as well as the word logosauce. I’ve put a few digs in there as well, like <sucks>Google</sucks>. You’re only going to “get” this tee shirt if you’re a logo geek – in other words, if you understand the “sauce code”. It’s in-crowd jargon, meant to exclude non-logo designers.
The bottle has been manipulated in to ensure the reflections and shadows are consistent with the angle it’s at .. not just rotated like some people have done!!! Shadows rarely appear at the TOP of an object!!!
;o)
As well as appealing to logo designers and other graphic designers, I thought this one would appeal to computer geeks as well – so you’ve got a larger market for it.
